Mud Room

I came across my mud room before and after pics from my last house and relized that I never posted the pics.  This was such an easy update that added so much more space and  helped to organize the daily mudroom madness.  Here is the before and after pics.
Mud Room Before and After Our girls needed a the hooks a little lower so they could reach them themselves, so we added a strip of mdf trim to the middle of the wall {make sure to measure backpacks so they fit}.  We used Liquid Nails and then made sure the wood was succure enough to hold the weight of backpacks and coats by using some screws into studs then filling the holes with wood putty.  Then we had the home improvement store cut the bead board to fit our space both above and below the new hooks.  We also had them cut beadboard to fit the oposite wall.  If you have never hung beadboard before it is so simple.  Apply the Liquid Nails to the back of the bead board then put it up on the wall.  Then to make sure it wont fall off I used a nail gun to succur it firmly.  Choose a trim that you love and put it on the top to finish it off.  You can use liquid Nails with this or just a few nails to hold it in place.  Then calk the your holes and edges and then paint.  I love the way that it finishes off the room.
